About Battetris
A falling-block puzzle game where you and your opponent drop pieces into the same grid. There is no second board to hide behind.
Every other block puzzle gives each player their own matrix and lets them attack across the gap. Battetris removes the gap. Both players work a single 20-column by 22-row playfield in real time — player one spawning from the left sector, player two from the right — and the middle columns belong to whoever gets there first. It turns a game about tidy stacking into a game about territory.

Line clears and garbage
Clearing lines is how you attack. A single line scores territory but sends nothing. Two lines push one solid garbage row beneath your opponent's sector, three lines push two, and a full four-line clear pushes four rows with holes in unpredictable places.
Because the grid is shared, garbage does not simply raise your opponent's stack — it reshapes the board you are both playing on. Sending four rows late in a match can hand your opponent exactly the terrain they needed. The strongest players hold a four-line clear until the middle columns are contested and the garbage will bury the opponent's landing zone rather than their own.
Playing the middle
Columns ten and eleven are the border. Pieces dropped there bridge both halves, and a well-placed block can occupy the space your opponent's next piece was going to land in. Watching the opponent's preview queue and denying their landing zone is usually worth more than an extra line clear.
The corollary is that the middle is dangerous. A bridge you build is a bridge they can clear, and clearing a shared line removes your blocks along with theirs.
Modes
- Versus player — create a room and share the five-character code, or join an open room from the lobby list.
- Versus bot — a single-player opponent, useful for learning the shared-grid geometry before playing a human.
- Scoreboard — global rankings, synced live.
Battetris runs entirely in the browser. No download, no install, no account needed to play.
